This is a wonderful song by Buddy Holly, but I love the Beatles so much and this video version is really cool. This is such a romantic song and easy to play. Chords: A, D, E
Words of Love – Beatles
Hold me close and Tell me how you feel, Tell me love is real.
[Chorus:] Words of love you whisper soft and true Darling I love you. Mmm, mmm, mmm, mmmm, Mmm, mmm, mmm, mmmm,
Let me hear you say The words I long to hear, Darling when you’re near.
Mamma mia, here I go again My my, how can I resist you? Mamma mia, does it show again My my, just how much I’ve missed you?
Yes, I’ve been brokenhearted Blue since the day we parted Why, why did I ever let you go? Mamma mia, now I really know My my, I could never let you go I’ve been angry and sad about things that you do I can’t count all the times that I’ve told you “we’re through” And when you go, when you slam the door I think you know that you won’t be away too long You know that I’m not that strong Just one look and I can hear a bell ring One more look and I forget everything
[Chorus]
Yes, I’ve been brokenhearted Blue since the day we parted Why, why did I ever let you go? Mamma mia, even if I say “Bye bye, leave me now or never” Mamma mia, it’s a game we play “Bye bye” doesn’t mean forever
[Chorus]
Yes, I’ve been brokenhearted Blue since the day we parted Why, why did I ever let you go? Mamma mia, now I really know My my, I could never let you go
Chiquitita, tell me what’s wrong You’re enchained by your own sorrow In your eyes there is no hope for tomorrow How I hate to see you like this There is no way you can deny it I can see that you’re oh so sad, so quiet
Chiquitita, tell me the truth I’m a shoulder you can cry on Your best friend, I’m the one you must rely on You were always sure of yourself Now I see you’ve broken a feather I hope we can patch it up together
Chiquitita, you and I know How the heartaches come and they go and the scars they’re leaving You’ll be dancing once again and the pain will end You will have no time for grieving Chiquitita, you and I cry But the sun is still in the sky and shining above you Let me hear you sing once more like you did before Sing a new song, Chiquitita Try once more like you did before Sing a new song, Chiquitita
So the walls came tumbling down And your love’s a blown out candle All is gone and it seems too hard to handle Chiquitita, tell me the truth There is no way you can deny it I see that you’re oh so sad, so quiet
Chiquitita, you and I know How the heartaches come and they go and the scars they’re leaving You’ll be dancing once again and the pain will end You will have no time for grieving Chiquitita, you and I cry But the sun is still in the sky and shining above you Let me hear you sing once more like you did before Sing a new song, Chiquitita Try once more like you did before Sing a new song, Chiquitita Try once more like you did before Sing a new song, Chiquitita
This an amazing song by Neil Young sung by KD Lang. I love her voice for this song. It’s powerful. Does it foretell the future? We can only wonder and see!
After the Gold Rush – KD Lang
Well, I dreamed I saw the knights in armor coming Sayin’ something about a queen There were peasants singin’ and drummers drumming And the archer split the tree There was a fanfare blowin’ to the sun That was floating on the breeze Look at mother nature on the run in the nineteen seventies Look at mother nature on the run in the nineteen seventies
I was lyin’ in a burned out basement With a full moon in my eyes I was hopin’ for a replacement When the sun burst through the skies There was a band playin’ in my head And I felt like getting high Thinkin’ about what a friend had said, I was hopin’ it was a lie Thinkin’ about what a friend had said, I was hopin’ it was a lie
Well, I dreamed I saw the silver spaceships flying In the yellow haze of the sun There were children crying and colors flying All around the chosen ones All in a dream, all in a dream The loading had begun Flyin’ mother nature’s silver seed To a new home in the sun Flyin’ mother nature’s silver seed To a new home in the sun
“What happens when James faces off with one of his old teachers, who berated him at his high school?
Tension and comedy, that’s what!! The story joins “Old Man Teacher” who knocks on James’ door. After the two face off, will there be forgiveness in the end? This is a little song I whipped up some time ago reflecting my high school Continue reading “The High School Blues – James Purdie”
This was a great, new energizing piece of music from 2015. It seems to speak to the growing age of awareness we are living in!
Radioactive – Image Dragons
I’m punching up to ash and dust, I wipe my brow and I sweat my rust, I’m breathing in, the chemicals. I’m breaking in, shaping up, then checking out on the prison bus. This is it, the apocalypse, whoa.
I’m waking up, I feel it in my bones. Enough to make my systems blow. Welcome to the new age, to the new age. Welcome to the new age, to the new age. Whoa, whoa, I’m radioactive, radioactive. Whoa, whoa, I’m radioactive, radioactive.
I raise my flags, don my clothes, It’s a revolution I suppose. Were painted red, to fit right in, whoa. I’m breaking in, shaping up, checking out on the prison bus.
All systems go, sun hasn’t died. Deep in my bones, straight from inside.
I’m waking up, I feel it in my bones. Enough to make my systems blow. Welcome to the new age, to the new age. Welcome to the new age, to the new age. Whoa, whoa, I’m radioactive, radioactive. Whoa, whoa, I’m radioactive, radioactive.
It’s hard to describe the beauty and the energy expressed through the music of ABBA. To me, it feels like ABBA is from another planet, (possible the Pleiades nebula) a place where the energy vibration is so high and so evolved. I don’t believe any music group has expressed a more joyful kind of energy than ABBA in world history and for that reason their music is a truly beautiful meditation. Just take a look at their lyrics!
This is an awesome country-western song to study. It’s a very interesting “story-song”. I taught every sentence to my Korean students. They loved it.
El Paso – Marty Robbins
Out in the West Texas town of El Paso I fell in love with a Mexican girl Night-time would find me in Rosa’s cantina Music would play and Felina would whirl
Blacker than night were the eyes of Felina Wicked and evil while casting a spell My love was deep for this Mexican maiden I was in love but in vain, I could tell
One night a wild young cowboy came in Wild as the West Texas wind Dashing and daring A drink he was sharing With wicked Felina The girl that I loved
So in anger I Challenged his right for the love of this maiden Down went his hand for the gun that he wore My challenge was answered in less than a heart-beat The handsome young stranger lay dead on the floor
Just for a moment I stood there in silence Shocked by the foul evil deed I had done Many thoughts raced through my mind as I stood there I had but one chance and that was to run
Out through the back door of Rosa’s I ran Out where the horses were tied I caught a good one It looked like it could run Up on its back And away I did ride
Just as fast as I Could from the West Texas town of El Paso Out to the bad-lands of New Mexico
Back in El Paso my life would be worthless Everything’s gone in life nothing is left It’s been so long since I’ve seen the young maiden My love is stronger than my fear of death
I saddled up and away I did go Riding alone in the dark Maybe tomorrow A bullet may find me Tonight nothing’s worse than this Pain in my heart
And at last here I Am on the hill overlooking El Paso I can see Rosa’s cantina below My love is strong and it pushes me onward Down off the hill to Felina I go
Off to my right I see five mounted cowboys Off to my left ride a dozen or more Shouting and shooting I can’t let them catch me I have to make it to Rosa’s back door
Something is dreadfully wrong for I feel A deep burning pain in my side Though I am trying To stay in the saddle I’m getting weary Unable to ride
But my love for Felina is strong and I rise where I’ve fallen Though I am weary I can’t stop to rest I see the white puff of smoke from the rifle I feel the bullet go deep in my chest
From out of nowhere Felina has found me Kissing my cheek as she kneels by my side Cradled by two loving arms that I’ll die for One little kiss and Felina, good-bye
