The Spiritual Journey of Eyes Without a Face: Lifting the Veil with Light Orbs and Truth

A Quest for Truth and Awakening

After some early trauma in my teenage years, I began a lifelong quest for truth. In university, I could sense intuitively and empathically that some people were more evolved, offering meaningful answers and deeper connections.

The turning point came one day when I visited a counselor, intending only to drop a class. She asked, ā€œIs there anything else you want to talk about?ā€ As I looked at her, an explosion of light energy erupted inside me—so strong that even she felt it. From that moment forward, I carried a radiant energy in my solar plexus, accompanied by lucid dreams, premonitions, and visions that seemed to open windows into other dimensions.

Eyes Without A Face: The Journey Towards Truth

Eyes Without a Face re-interpretation exploring truth, awakening and journey beyond illusions

My Eyes Without a Face Journey

Growing up in the 1980s, Billy Idol’s music was one of the big sparks that lit up my teenage years. The mix of energy, style, and creative flair in his videos stood out—raw rock spirit combined with artistic presentation. And of course, the guitar sounds of Steve Stevens in Eyes Without a Face… unforgettable. That flashy mid-song guitar solo was always one of my favorite moments in music, and I long dreamed of recreating that energy.

In fact, one of my best friends once said to me, ā€œyou sound exactly like Billy Idol.ā€ That comment stuck in my mind, and in some ways, it planted the seed for this project decades later.

Fast forward to today, and I finally took the plunge. I started working in Cubase, recording vocals and instruments, and shaping the arrangement into my own interpretation. I’ve always believed that when you really master a piece of music, you live inside it—you feel the energy, the essence, the pulse of what made it great. That’s what I tried to capture here.

The project also expanded visually. I worked in Blender 3D to create artistic animations, and used DaVinci Resolve for mixing the video and shaping the final presentation. Music and visuals came together in ways that surprised even me—it started to take on a life of its own.

I also had help from some creative friends:

Brad Hampton of Silhouette Studios (Kamloops) handled mixing, mastering, and even joined in on background vocals with his wife.

Curtis Good (Kamloops) and Laurie Jean Fraser (Lake Country, BC) contributed acting samples, adding texture to the narrative side of the video.

What began as a personal passion turned into something much bigger—part tribute, part reinterpretation, part collaboration.

And because I teach music and video arts to kids, I also slightly modified the lyrics to keep them suitable for everyone, while weaving in a few new touches that connect with the times we’re living in now.

This is more than just a cover—it’s my journey through Eyes Without a Face. I invite you to check it out and experience how music from the past can still inspire creativity, connection, and something fresh today.

Happy Music

HappyMusic

Here’s one of the most enjoyable music videos I have made to date. I actually made this song back in Seoul, South Korea, 2007, on one particularly beautiful morning. I was teaching some gifted students ESL at a University in the afternoons and went in and gave a demo of the song to the students. There was one great student who loved it instantly and started dancing and “grooving” in such a way that is so pleasing and affirmative for a creator to witness. It gave me more confidence in this track and I developed in more. It has great opening riff, which I originally recorded on my Fender Stratocaster. It was a great recording but I tried to make a certain vocal harmony in it, which just didn’t really add to the song and was hard to do.

The Master Cleanse by Stanley Burroughs

The Master Cleanse

How many of you have heard of the “Master Cleanse” from a friend or two. I admit I was in was in this category and although I had dedicated the last 7 years of my life to holistic health, Yoga, vegetarian eating, super human potential, I still hadn’t quite seized the value and importance of Fasting. Though I certainly knew dieting enhances spirituality with the body-mind connection. While the Master Cleanse isn’t truly a Fast, but a carefully chosen liquid diet, there’s a huge body of wisdom which is related to what this experience entails. All I can say is try it and you won’t be disappointed.

Avocado Lime Pudding

Avocado Lime Pudding

Well, once again, if you thought that all wonderfully delicious things in our world have to be toxic and addictive, there’s fantastic news! I made another incredible discovery this Winter. As I sat there marveling over the creamy texture of the avocado, it occurred to me that they would probably make the ultimate healthy pudding. They’re so incredibly healthy and creamy and within seconds I found recipes all over the internet for this healthy Lime and Chocolate Avocado Puddings. I must say I am truly stunned by how delicious, nutritious, and simple these puddings turned out to be. I enthusiastically insist that everybody give this try! It doesn’t make sense that “treat cravings” should be a big Minus in a person’s daily diet when wonderful solutions like this exist.

New Creativity for a New Age

Well I felt inspired the other day with a new microphone plugged in so I started throwing down some tracks. It was a particular effect called AG Reverb which I really liked. It reminded of the first Reverb I enjoyed listening to on N-Track studio years ago. This effect had a “Preamp” effect included as well too. Anyways, sounded cool so it got me recording again. I must attribute some inspiration to Bach as well, especially Toccata and Fugue which I’m happily studying.

Linger – Brian Wiltse

linger video

This is a great recording and video we did for our buddy Brian who wrote this song while we were back in South Korea approximately 2002. I knew we could improve on the original recording we made back then. So it was fun a challenge to record, produce and film this song for Brian. There’s a famous singer cameo in this song as well too, Kinny, an amazing artist. Check her out on youtube.
